5 tips to optimise your efficiency outside the office as well
1. Be sure to have power
Electrical plugs? You will always find one, except when you need one. Don't just hope to find one in that lovely café or on the client's premises: be sure of it by taking your own double plug! You will then able to share the plug with someone else. In an emergency you can always resort to an external battery.
2. Don't forget to back up
Don't wait until you return to the office to save your files. Instead choose an external hard drive or an automatic online backup service such as Dropbox, SugarSync, Google Drive etc. It would be such a shame to lose all the work you've done out on the road.
3. Keep your mobile device secure
Mobile devices are an excellent target for pickpockets and thieves. The best security method? Don't take your eyes off your device for one second: of course this is easier said than done. Treat yourself to an anti-theft device for your PC and you will have peace of mind.
4. Avoid accidents
You will usually have to drink something to be able to sit and work in your favourite café. A delicious cup of steaming coffee is the logical choice, until you knock it over onto your device. That is why you are better off choosing a bottle with a resealable lid.
5. Never trust the public WiFi
Public places increasingly offer free WiFi connection. Unfortunately these are not always to be trusted. After all they can be the favourite target of mobile pirates. Why run the risk when it is easy to create your own mobile hotspot? With mobile internet from Orange you are guaranteed an internet connection that is protected and trustworthy, wherever you are and at all times.
